Christopher landed flat on his feet, sticking the landing with bent knees and a warrior’s body positioned to escape or enter the battle. Christopher thought to himself, “That had to have looked cool!” He looked around in all directions and realized he had landed in an unforgiving and lifeless land. All he could see for miles were jagged mountains, deep valleys, and blue skies. Unlike the world he had just left, this one was completely void of water. He sniffed the air and then bent down to scoop a handful of dirt, turning his hand over to watch the dry sand fall as if it were turning time within an hourglass. He could smell the dryness in the air and could feel the absence of liquid beneath his feet. If there was water on this planet, it was not on the surface. He knew he needed to change his form, so he reached out with his mind for any sign of humanoid life. The signal was faint, but notable. He focused his thoughts by reaching out with more mental thrust and after a few moments, he found it. Locking onto the signal, he absorbed the bloodline genetic codes, let them settle, and then locked it down. A shiver was felt across his body; living electricity touching every inch of his body. He opened his eyes and could feel his body had changed. He thought to himself, “Welcome to the new world!”
