Stepping In begins with a five-book Young Adult fantasy/science-fiction adventure—but the vision behind it reaches well beyond the story.

At the heart of the Stepping In Ecosystem is a simple idea: stories can give us a reason to talk to one another.

Christopher's adventures explore extraordinary worlds, but the questions beneath them are very human: trust, identity, independence, courage, responsibility, perseverance, family, friendship, love, and the choices we make when there may be no obvious right answer.

• The Book is where the journey begins. The story comes first—adventure, characters, relationships, choices and consequences. Along the way, certain moments may make us stop and think: What would I have done? What do I think? What would someone else see differently? That's where a story can become something more.

 

• The Companion Guide creates a space for teens and the adults in their lives to explore those moments together. It isn't a teacher's guide, a workbook, or an answer key. Instead, readers return to the story, share perspectives, ask deeper questions, sometimes disagree, and discover where the conversation takes them

 

• The Bridge carries those conversations beyond the books. This monthly digital resource expands story-grounded questions into the real world teens and adults share—relationships, technology, independence, communication, responsibility, perseverance, family, and more.
